How do I convert the ePub file for use on a Kindle®?
- Download and install Calibre from http://calibre-ebook.com/.
- By all means, watch the video demonstration on the Calibre website.
- Download the ePub Thanksgiving Bible Lesson by clicking the icon or link on this page.
- On a PC: Right click on the Lesson-Sermon title and choose “Save Target As …” (“Save Link As...” option in Firefox; note that wording may vary depending on your browser).
- On a Mac: Hold down “Ctrl” and click the Lesson-Sermon title. Then choose “Download link to disk” (note that wording may vary depending on your operating system and browser).
- Before saving the file, add the file extension “.epub” after the file name. For example, you could save the Thanksgiving Bible Lesson as 2011Thanksgiving.epub.
- Open Calibre and choose “Add Books” from the menu along the top of the screen. A window will open showing your Desktop. Find the Lesson file you saved there and click on it. You will see a progress bar “Adding…,” and then the converted file will appear listed in the Calibre window.
- Next, plug in your Kindle by using the USB connector cable that comes with the Kindle. After your computer recognizes the Kindle, you will notice that the menu along the top of the Calibre window changes to include “Send to Device” among other things.
- Highlight the Lesson and click “Send to Device.” Click “Yes” to the question “Auto convert the following books before uploading to the device?”
- Eject your Kindle in the correct manner.
- Once ejected, unplug the USB cable from your Kindle and check the Home page. You should find the title of the Lesson-Sermon listed there with “New” in the margin alongside.
- Done!
